Description: Students will develop and reinforce basic computational skills necessary for a strong mathematical foundation. In addition, they will gain confidence in solving everyday mathematical word problems, as well as, be prepared for their future study of Pre-Algebra and Algebra. Topics will include: whole numbers, decimals, fractions, geometry, equations, ratios, percents, integers, and problem solving strategies. Outside math facts practice, vocabulary on Quizlet.com and khanacademy.org work will be required. Extra instruction and personal attention for mastery of concepts will be available if necessary.
Class Pre-Requisites, if any: Math Assessment; In order to be placed in this class, a math assessment is required to see if they have the skills necessary for success in this class. PRINT the Math Placement Test, have the student complete the assessment, and mail or drop in Shari Nelson’s teacher folder before enrollment.
