Speech – Public Speaking

Description: “A good speech is like a pencil; it has to have a point.” – author unknown

This class will teach the students the basic skills in presenting various topics in several forms of speech.  We will work on presenting skills through Bible verse readings, poetry, and several different styles of speeches. A few of these styles are as follows: demonstrative or visual aide how-to speeches , informative speeches, persuasive speeches, impromptu speeches,  and monologues. Through giving these speeches, the  students will learn important life skills of poise, voice, expression, eye contact, gestures, speed, and
timing. This is a good class to prepare the student for the required college speech course and experience public speaking among their peers.
