CTP Testing is now available at CERC!

CTP: Comprehensive Testing Program    Grades 4-10

CTP - ERBThe Comprehensive Testing Program (CTP) is a rigorous assessment for high achieving students in areas such as reading, listening, vocabulary, writing, science (online only) and mathematics. Verbal and quantitative reasoning subtests are part of the CTP beginning in Grade 3. The CTP helps compare content specific, curriculum-based performance to the more conceptual knowledge base found in reasoning tests.

The Comprehensive Testing Program is a product of the Education Records Bureau (ERBlearn.org) provided by Homeschool Testing Services for homeschool families.  See the ERB web-site for more information and Family Resources.

Testing dates are now available for 2018 for grades 4-10.  Additional grades may be offered in the future!

Through a partnership with Homeschool Testing Services, CERC will be administering the CTP for all families interested in this test on May 23rd – 24th (our Event page).

Registration is open through the Homeschool Testing Services site. (Pleases ignore all references to the Standford test). We ask all families to return to the Test Reservation Page, so we can plan accordingly.

Ray and Charlene Notgrass are veteran homeschooling parents who love history. They have enjoyed visiting historic sites around Texas. The photos above are from the Lanier Theological Library in Houston, the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum in College Station, and a point on the Chisholm Trail in Fort Worth.

They will be in Rowlett on March 4 with a fun presentation for parents. Ray will share fascinating stories from American history, looking at how faith, compassion, and determination have motivated people to work for the greater good. Charlene will talk about how you can use field trips near and far to learn about history, even with limited time and a limited budget.

When: Saturday, March 4, 2017, at 11:00 am

The program will last about an hour with time to chat and ask questions. You will also have an opportunity to browse Notgrass History resources that help homeschooling parents teach the heart, soul, and mind.

The CERC 2016-2017 class schedule has been released!

edu_hghschcalendar_hdr2 No foolin’! We are pleased to offer over 60 classes next year covering all subject areas and grade levels, pre-k through 12th. Enrollment for current families will begin Monday, April 4, 2016 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

CERC is welcoming several new teachers to our top-notch team.  The passion and expertise of our teachers is exceptional, and we are confident that your child’s education will be enriched during his or her time in their classes. Additionally, we are encouraged to see the increasing variety of communities CERC is reaching.

As you may know, there is a minimum number of students required in order for a class to make.  After you register your own students to hold your spot in classes, then spread the word! Please forward the link to your friends or share it on your social media.  This will help ensure that enrollment numbers support the need for the classes and will also bless families that might not otherwise know of their availability.

You will find links to all of the necessary enrollment forms, an academic calendar, teacher bios, the 2016-2017 class schedule and more!
