If You're Testing This Week!
I have been going over the materials for the Iowa Testing.
Please sure to provide the following items for your child:
No. 2 Pencils
Scratch Paper
Snacks (cheese sticks, crackers, etc.)
Bottled water or Gatorade (etc.)
See Calculator note below
As per the calendar on the web-site, we will be testing as follows (all times are approximate depending on breaks needed):
WED 3rd-8th grades Sessions 1-3 8:30 - 11:45 AM
all grades followed by 60 min CogAT (if testing)
THUR 3rd-8th grades Sessions 4-6 8:30 - 11:45 AM
3rd grade Listening 12:00 - 12:20 AM
all grades followed by 30 min CogAT (if testing)
Students will be given short breaks between each session to go to the bathroom or have a small snack. Each session is broken out into the short, timed battery tests.
Calculators are allowed during certain portions of the test. This will be noted in the upper grade tests. There will also be a question regarding whether a calculator is used. The student will have to "bubble-in" yes or no. Math Computations Tests (Similar to Speed Drills) are basic and calculators are not allowed.
