The Holocaust: A Unit Study                                                                         Adria Ger

Through the use of children's literature, we will discuss and explore Europe post
WWI and how various forces came together to create a climate ripe for the rise of
the Nazi Party, the plunge into a second world war, and the tragedy of the
Holocaust. Students will read age and period appropriate historical fiction with an
eye to understanding, in a personal way, the impact of the war. In addition,
students will gain a thorough historical overview of the main "players" in World War
II. They will engage in many and varied written and group activities that will extend
their learning. We will also endeaavor to touch upon the subject of God's presence
and providence during this dark period of history. By looking at the history of the
Church and the choices made by God's people, both for good and for evil, we will see
how much our own choices impact others.

and HE will make
your paths straight.
